Antichrist Again!

Jerry Falwell is partially correct, or to be more accurate, totally wrong as cited by USA Today when he said, "Antichrist is probably alive today and is a male Jew." Is the Antichrist alive and here today? Falwell replies, "Probably." Sir, an emphatic yes! is more in order. Although Antichrist could be a male Jew - and every male Jew who denies that Jesus is God is, Antichrist could very well be a female Indian who likewise rejects the incarnation of God the Son.

Even though Falwell, who has done much good, and those of his theological bent of the "Dispensational camp" claims Scripture teaches his twisted position, seldom is the Bible actually quoted within its context. As a matter of fact, to support this ever increasing fictitious fallacy "text tearing" is practiced. The Holy Bible only says that one is an Antichrist who denies that Jesus is God come in the flesh; it is not one exclusively male of the Jewish heritage. "Let God be true and every man a liar."

''`Who will the Antichrist be? I don't know. Nobody else knows,' said Falwell, whose Sunday morning services at Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg are carried by television stations nationwide." Maybe Falwell doesn't know but, Scripture plainly gives us a method by which we may know. First, "antichristos" is a combined form of "christos" - Christ - and the prefix anti. One of the renderings of anti would be "against." However, it also carries the idea of "in the place of" as a substitute for another. According to Scripture, the concept of the Antichrist contains both of these meanings.

The Apostle John is the one who specifically addressed the issue by name. Notice and keep in mind that in the first century the Holy Spirit forcefully indicates that the Antichrist was already alive. Incidentally, the following passages are the only ones which mention the Antichrist.

(1 John 2:18 KJV) Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

(1 John 2:22 KJV) Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

(1 John 4:3 KJV) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

(2 John 1:7 KJV) For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Falwell is quoted as saying, ''If he's [the antichrist] going to be the counterfeit of Christ, he has to be Jewish,'' Falwell said. ''The only thing we know is he must be male and Jewish.'' These are the bane, inane, delusions purporting to be Biblical preaching that has paralyzed the advancement of Christ's will on earth these past 169 years. According to the authority of Scripture, Falwell and those of his eschatological perspective are preaching lies in the name of the LORD. Falwell's comments are not only construed as anti-Jewish, but they are anti-Scriptural. Reader, you have a choice now to make: Believe a man of renown who clearly says unscriptural things; or believe thus saith the Word of the LORD.
