Subject: Will you or will you not answer the question?

Dear Kevin:

It was encouraging to have you state, "I checked out your web site and
found it to be interesting and thought-provoking." Although you went on to say, "Due to philosphical (sic) differences, I feel it in both our best interests that we not pursue a meeting." Nevertheless, you have failed to substantiate what the philosophical differences were (are), and have again avoided to address the initial question raised which was,
"Do you understand the distinction between a local, independent, unregistered Baptist Church and a state-financed Baptist religious corporation; Be it a state's side local Baptist corporation or an oversees Baptist corporation?"

To be sure the Bob Jones University did not teach you to evade hard questions in this fashion. My Pastor, a graduate from there, instilled in me 25 years ago to face the challenges of life. Such a practice is the principle taught in Scripture.

In citing the three passages of Scripture explaining your "reasons for seeking like-minded churches" you misquoted or miswrote one address. You ascribed "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;" unto Titus 3:5, when in fact it is Titus 2:13. A minor oversight; it was probably a typo.

What is troubling, however, is how you have dodged the question: "Do you understand the distinction between a local, independent, unregistered Baptist Church and a state-financed Baptist religious corporation; Be it a state's side local Baptist corporation or an oversees Baptist corporation?" To indicate as you did, that you are "seeking like-minded churches" only begs the question.

The statist have "Churches" just as do the sodomites, Satanist, and pseudo religionist of our era. To be a statist one simply elevates the humanists statutes of men above the unchanging Holy Word of Almighty God. The true Church - in the sense of the New Testament usage - is authorized by, and answerable, to Christ Jesus our LORD. The Scripture is the sole source of authority for both faith and practice for the child of God. (See: John 1:12; Galatians 3:26; 1 John 3:1; 2 Corinthians 6:18; 1 Timothy 3:14-16; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Romans 15:4).

Kevin, did you examine the passages cited in my first two correspondences? It was stated, "In Thessalonica the enemies of Christ preferred statism to the Sovereignty of God, and said as much in their false accusation against the servants of the Most High (Acts 17:7). This was not an isolated instance. In Corinth the unbelievers likewise expressed their preference for statism rather than be under the LORDSHIP of Christ (Acts18:8)."

Consider the challenging of Elijiah when he boldly declared, "... How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word." (1 Ki 18:21 KJV) The astute comments of Henry Morris on this verse are worth one's consideration. "This challenge is the classic indictment of theological compromise. The temptation to accommodate pagan beliefs or practices in the worship and service of the true God of Creation has been a Satanic device used in every age, including our own."

Please understand, we do support foreign as well as home missions. But those men are not attending Baptist corporations, or being sent out by them. Nor are they going out under Baptist corporation-mission-boards.

Kevin, if God has truly called you to preach the gospel of our LORD Jesus Christ, then you are duty bound to proclaim the whole counsel of God (See: Acts 20:27; 2 Timothy 4:2). What's more, you have an unending responsibility to study and apply the Word of God to all of life's situations (See: 2 Timothy 2:15). If preachers are unfaithful to the LORD regarding the authority entrusted them (See: 1 Timothy 1:1), they cannot expect the blessings of the indwelling Holy Spirit to be manifested in and through their lives.

In closing the words of Martin Luther come to mind to best illustrate the importance of why the question (Do you understand the distinction between a local, independent, unregistered Baptist Church and a state-financed Baptist religious corporation; Be it a state's side local Baptist corporation or an oversees Baptist corporation?) was raised: "If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the Devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ."

Be assured Friends, your request regarding prayer for your ministry will certainly be observed by us. Will you please comply with our request and respond to the above question?

May God be glorified in each of our lives!

Sincerely,

Pastor Brown

"I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do. What I can do, I should do. And what I should do, by the grace of God, I will do." - Edward Everett Hale
