To whom it may Concern:

Since the Eternal Grace Baptist Church is, in fact, a "Church" and not a religious organization nor a "religious corporation," it is therefore a non taxable Church rather than exempt religious organization.

In this matter, the basic difference between the status of a Church and a religious corporation is that exemption means a tax is owed but forgiven by the state. Whereas, non taxable means no such tax is owed, and the Church is not subject to taxation. Although these two positions may appear similar, in that neither one renders a tax, the Church, however, operates upon a divine principle rather than by the state's permission. Thus, as a Church numbers are unnecessary.

Any requests for taxpayer identification number and certification could never be completed by a true Church, since the LORD Jesus is the head of the Church, and as such is not liable for taxes. Hence, this letter should serve as ample information for both intent as well as status and is submitted in lieu of a tax exempt or Federal ID number, which Churches are never required to have. Such practices of requesting forms, numbers, or any other type of corporate status is proper for corporations, but not for the Church. We certainly hope that Christianity in its Scriptural form is not going to be discriminated against by businesses like yours.
