Subject: Awaiting a reply and an answer to our question

Dear Kevin & Lori:

This is the second attempt to respond to your letter of intent to preach the gospel in Ghana, West Africa. One would think that answer would have been forwarded by now, since it was first sent out 8/29/98.

As explained in the first E-mail because time and resources are so often in short supply for Christians in general and missionary candidates in particular, this medium of an E-mail is being employed, primarily for your sakes. (Costs of phone calls).

In our first letter we raised a few questions, which are again set forth: Kevin, how did you come upon my name, address, and our Church in which God has assigned me to oversee? (Notice Acts 20:28) Do you understand the distinction between a local, independent, unregistered Baptist Church and a state-financed Baptist religious corporation; Be it a state's side local Baptist corporation or an oversees Baptist corporation?

Christ "loved the Church," as you certainly know, "and gave HIMSELF for it" (Eph 5:25). As Scripture plainly teaches, Christ is the "Head of the Church" (Eph 1:22; Col 2:19). The Church is the body of Christ and is under HIS Head-ship or LORDSHIP, notwithstanding the opinions of perverse people. In Thessalonica the enemies of Christ preferred statism to the Sovereignty of God, and said as much in their false accusation against the servants of the Most High (Acts 17:7). This was not an isolated instance. In Corinth the unbelievers likewise expressed their preference for statism rather than be under the LORDSHIP of Christ (Acts18:8).

Although the early believers were of the firm commitment as were their predecessors of old like Moses' parents, Daniel etc., which is reflected by the bold reply of Peter and John "We ought to obey God rather than men", today such a response is censored by many that name the name of Christ. That's why this question is so important to us: "Do you understand the distinction between a local, independent, unregistered Baptist Church and a state-financed Baptist religious corporation; Be it a state's side local Baptist corporation or an oversees Baptist corporation?"

Dear Friends, we here at the Eternal Grace Baptist Church are born again, blood bought, Baptists in the historical, particular vein of John the Baptizer. Hence, for us to support a man and his family, as you are requesting, in this great outreach in order to establish, as you have stated "a Bible preaching, Baptist Church," then that man must be able to discern the critical difference between a Church and a religious corporation. It is my earnest desire that the concern raised here could be addressed by you.

If you have received our E-mail reply to your letter, please aknowledge it at once. Be assured Friends, your request regarding prayer for your ministry will certainly be observed by us.

May God be glorified in each of our lives!

Sincerely,

Pastor Brown

"I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do. What I can do, I should do. And what I should do, by the grace of God, I will do." - Edward Everett Hale
